HOW TO COPE WITH NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL
Security specialist Hadrian Technology explains how CCTV can dissolve neighbourhood politics
As news broke today that a mysterious vandal who defaces car tyres has been unmasked on CCTV as a dog with a bad habit, security specialist Hadrian Technology offers advice to anxious neighbours explaining how their systems can bring harmony back to a neighbourhood.
Hadrian Technology’s general manager Gary Trotter said: “What can sometimes start off as a small problem can escalate. CCTV is an easy and inexpensive solution to stopping problems in a community, if they’re left to get worse that’s when people’s emotions fray. You cannot argue with the evidence that CCTV provides which means problems can be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
“Some of the public still think that CCTV is complex and expensive but there is a huge variety of cameras, set ups and systems available. We work closely with Videcon, a camera manufacturer that creates innovative camera packages. We then consult the client and design a system that suits their needs before we install it; we provide a comprehensive maintenance service too.
“You can see how far CCTV has come since it began when you witness Videcon’s Concept Pro range that offers an image quality that is better than Sky HD, this is favoured by our more commercial clients, but we have something that suits everyone. We can also link up systems to remote monitoring devices (tablets, smart phones and laptops) so you can even go and show your neighbour what you’ve seen! But we recommend dealing with the local police first so they can address the issue first.”
The recent news story about a vandal responsible for a six-month spate of car damage in Brampton, Cumbria, was caught on CCTV installed to solve the problem. The Border Collie dog, called Jess, was regularly biting the nearside tyres of cars during her daily walk whilst her owner was unaware.
Hadrian Technology, a security specialist that installs cutting-edge CCTV for domestic and commercial clients has been asked to install CCTV cameras for clients who had small but similar problems that were nipped in the bud by CCTV.
Gary continued: “One client that got in touch with Hadrian Technology asking for help was a lady keen to find out who was stealing the intricate flowers that adorned her front gate, and another kept on finding mysterious floods in her kitchen.
“After a consultation with one of Hadrian Technology’s specialist engineers, an appropriate CCTV system was installed in each house. Consequently, the flower thief was caught along with the disgruntled neighbour who was sliding a hose pipe through their next door kitchen window! So if there’s something strange going on in your house or on your street, CCTV might be the answer.”
